Unfortunately, the most unwitting victims of the housing crisis are our furry friends! Atlanta shamefully puts down 90,000 animals in Metro shelters annually. And that was before the bottom fell out! With adoptions down 55% and turn-ins rising, well you can do the math. It is heart wrenching. Please do what you can to adopt or support rescue organizations that are now struggling under the growing numbers. They can only do so much without additional help. Here are a few to check out:
