LAKE CLAIRE

Actually, there isn't really a "Lake" in Lake Claire. As explained on the neighborhood website,"The name "Lake Claire" derives from the intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Claire Drive.  There never was a "Lake Claire," rather Lakeshore was named after the now-dry artificial "Lake Ponceana," formerly at the north intersection of Claire.  The neighborhood was probably named after the Lake Claire Garden Club founded in the mid 1930s."

Lake Claire Real EstateLake Claire is also unique in geological terms. The neighborhood sits just to the Gulf side of the Eastern Continental Divide which directs rainfall into either the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico. The entire neighborhood is located within DeKalb County.

Popular with all residents, Lake Claire Park is a 4.7 acre public park featuring multi-purpose sports field, children's playscape and swings, 2 tennis courts and a picnic area.

"Architecture:  Mainly post-Victorian residential styles.  Housing types range from craftsman & bungalow, to 50's cottages, exotic revivals, and modern designs.  The housing stock, as with the neighborhood's residents, is a fun mix of distinction and harmony."
